So I guess Sydney is in a bit of a klutzy stage in life. I took this first photo this morning to show how she crawled into Grandma's fireplace with her forehead. I think seeing a huge hole in my daughter's head that was bleeding did more to me as her mother than it hurt her. I nearly passed out! The funny thing was, as I drove up there, I was listening to the Blue Collar Channel on Sirius (LOVE the satellite radio!). A comedian was talking about how parents nowadays don't like taking their children to their parent's houses because nothing is child proofed. He said, "Come on, we all stuck our fingers in light sockets and lived!" That comedy routine was very appropriate for our visit to grandma's that day.
Then, before I could even post that first picture, Sydney tripped on the sidewalk and got owies on her elbow and knee and bonked her forehead again and made that first owie bleed again! Poor girl! If I had gotten a picture of her with her mouth open you could see her chipped front tooth - this was a previous injury though, not from today. My poor, beat up kiddo.

Yikes! Poor Sydney. I totally understand where you're coming from. Molly is a HUGE klutz and always has been. One time at my sister's place she managed to get two giant bleeding goose eggs on different parts of her head and bang up her knee all within the last 30 minutes of our weekend trip. (One of the goose eggs was from the giant brick fireplace.) Heck, tonight she went to bed with a nasty bruise on her heel and a painful twisted ankle from a fall at the mall playplace this evening. My only words of advice are to keep lots of band-aids and tylenol on hand and pray she grows out of it soon. Luckily, Jake is fantastic at fixing owies. Way better than me. And he does a lot fo it these days because now that Janie is finally toddling around she falls all the time and seems to always end up with a bloody mouth or a cut somewhere on her face. Ugh, kids! Thank goodness I grew out of my klutziness (mostly)...it just took until I was in my 20's. Good luck.
She may be growing. Allison still to this day, gets really clumsy whenshe is growing. She tripped on the sidewalk once and gave herself a coccusion, and goose egg, like sydney's. Good luck with that. at least you will get a warning when you will be buying a whole new wardrobe.
Sweet baby girl. It hurts to look at the bottom pic the most cuz she looks so sad on top of it all. The forehead and tripping on the sidewalk aspect reminds me of her uncle Seth.
Aww, poor thing.
I thought you were telling us to stick to the story that she fell down the stairs. I guess I'm getting confused with your changing stories. :) I'm totally kidding. Poor little syd. Kendyl went through that in LA. Everyone there gets in your business and were horrified as I'd take her on walks with her forehead and knees all cut up. Poor kids. I think Holly's right about her growing.
Wow, that's a pretty elaborate story. Most people just say they fell down the stairs. Remember to count to 10!
My poor neice, too bad she looks so darn cute with owies and all!!! Love the pictures...you should really check out Esty.com and consider posting some of your photos...it's a cool site.
OUCH! My kids fall all the time too. Parker always has bruises up & down his legs. I agree about the grandparents house. Scott's parents have a ton of stuff that could be ruined by kids or get hurt by. Parker did run into their book case w/his face the other day. Other than that, I can't remember any major bumps at the moment. I'm sure our day will come.
Poor girl, that's so sad!
Owie! Poor girl.
What a sad cute face! Mia has what I believe to be a permanent crease on her forehead from pulling the stockings down on herself several times during Christmas. The weights that hold the stockings in place leave quite a mark! I'm convinced fireplaces are bad news for little kids!
