Big Girl Bed

Yes, we also had to take this inevitable step. We got Sydney a toddler bed because the night before (for the 2nd time) she jumped over the edge of her crib and landed on her head. She has a nice rug burn there now. She keeps repeating the words, "New Bed" while running around in her room. She slept fairly well in it last night, but woke up crying several times. My guess is she just wasn't sleeping quite as sound because of the change... any other mothers out there say this is normal?

Yeah, that's normal. When we moved Molly into a big girl bed, she kept getting up in the middle of the night and we'd find her sleeping on the floor at the foot of the bed. Oh, wait, over a year later that still happens. Hmm, maybe I'm not such a good one to ask on this. My kid doesn't fit any standard of "normal" it seems. Good luck. I bet she'll get used to it pretty quick.

It's normal. I wish I could tell you it will end soon, but it's been 2 months and Emma is just getting it down. At least for the last two nights...

Emma did it too. She eventually stayed there instead of the floor. Parker never liked it and moved right to a twin size bed. Of course I am mean and put those "baby proof" knobs on the door so they can't come out. It works for them. Good luck.

I am a big fan of those baby proof door knobs. Xac would never sleep except for on his own schedule when the exhaustion overcame him if not for those things. He has a new bunk bed, and would rather sleep anywhere but on it, though he does love to climb on top. Heh, heh, heh.
